Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

Online CBT-I Group for Insomnia, with a Focus on Menopause

A small online group for insomnia, with a focus on the sleep problems that come with perimenopause and menopause. Maybe you fall asleep fine, then wake at 3am, hot or wired, and lie there for hours. Maybe it's been years since you slept through. This is six weeks of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) with a few other people who know what that's like.

Not in menopause? You're welcome too. CBT-I works for adults with any kind of chronic insomnia, and we'll talk on the free consult about whether the group is right for you.

The details

  • Six weekly sessions, 60 minutes each, live on secure video

  • Up to 8 people

  • For California residents

  • $170 a week ($1,020 for all six weeks)

  • Includes a short PDF each week, secure messaging between sessions, an optional 15-minute 1:1 check-in each week, and a booster session one month after the group ends

When it starts

The group starts once six people have committed. Book a free 20-minute consult to save your spot, and I'll let you know the start date and time as soon as the group is full.

What CBT-I is

CBT-I is a structured, short-term treatment for insomnia. The American College of Physicians recommends it as the first treatment for chronic insomnia in adults, ahead of medication. In a pooled analysis of the MsFLASH trials in women with hot flashes, CBT-I improved insomnia more than estradiol, two antidepressants, yoga, or exercise did.

Is it a fit?

It may be a good fit if you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep most nights, it's been going on for months, and the sleep-hygiene tips haven't helped. It's especially suited to women whose sleep changed in perimenopause or menopause.

Parts of this treatment aren't safe for everyone, including people with untreated sleep apnea, bipolar disorder, a seizure disorder, pregnancy, or night-shift work. We'll sort that out together on the free consult.
